Administrators

Principal: Dr. Jason Pope

Dr. Pope has worked in education for more than 20 years and has been an administrator for the last 12 years. He began teaching music in Virginia but began his Kansas City career as a music instructor at the Kansas City Kansas Community College. After working in higher education, Dr. Pope worked as a music teacher in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph and in the Excelsior Springs School District. Dr. Pope later served as a principal in the Decatur Public Schools, where he began a program to feed families in need as well as Champaign where he worked with the University of Illinois and NYU Steinhardt to support diverse student populations. 

Dr. Pope received his bachelor’s degree from Millikin University, his master’s degrees from Park University and George Mason University and his doctoral degree from the University of Illinois. 
 

Assistant Principal: Lynsey Peck

Mrs. Lynsey Peck became the assistant principal at Southeast Elementary starting with the 2024-2025 school year. This is her 20th year in education. She joined the Park Hill family in 2021 as a fifth grade teacher at Tiffany Ridge Elementary. Before becoming Southeast's assistant principal, Mrs. Peck was a second grade teacher, assistant to the principal, and a summer school principal at Union Chapel Elementary.  

Mrs. Peck earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from  Missouri Western State University, her master's degree in elementary principal K-8 from the University of Missouri-Kansas and her educational specialist in superintendency from Northwest Missouri State University

Mrs. Peck is passionate about educating students for successful futures. She believes that by empowering and respecting a diverse community of learners, all can grow, lead, and achieve sucess.
