Synergy Partnership

Esther Guzan, Synergy’s Prevention Specialist

About Me:
My name is Esther Guzan, and I’m a prevention specialist at Synergy Services with eight years of experience in the education field. I have a bachelor's degree from Central Methodist University, GO EAGLES! I love spending time with my family. I have a 5-year-old daughter and a 2-year-old son that keep me busy. I’m extremely excited to partner with Southeast Elementary and provide mindfulness, self-regulation and social emotional support for students.

Our Partnership:
During my partnership with Southeast Elementary, I will implement the MindUP Curriculum and conduct small groups of identified students who are in need of extra social emotional support.

The MindUp Curriculum is 15 lessons integrated in small increments throughout the school day. For the 2018-2019 school year, I am implementing this curriculum in three classrooms, once a week, three times a day. The lessons will help both educators and students understand their own brains: how they develop and organize over time, how they can change and grow in a positive way, and how stress or trauma effects their ability to teach and learn well.
